The idea for EAI was born out of frustration and empathy. After retiring from his Olympic career, Bill Schuffenhauer, one of EAI’s founders, realized how many athletes struggle to navigate life after sports. They’re often left to redefine their identities without the support or tools they need. Bill’s own journey of resilience inspired him to build a space where athletes could thrive beyond the field.

Alongside Bill, Andrea Miller, a visionary entrepreneur with a gift for turning ideas into reality, and Paul Miller, an experienced educator with a passion for helping people achieve at high levels, shared a deep commitment to helping others uncover their potential. Recognizing the need for a strong legal and business strategist, Lucinda Fanta—with decades of experience in equestrian sports, media relations, nonprofit management and a love for the Spirit of the Olympics—immediately saw that Milt Thompson, a seasoned attorney and philanthropist with a deep understanding of legacy, would be a perfect addition to the EAI Team. With Milt’s extensive experience in guiding athletes and executives toward meaningful post-career opportunities, the team came together to form EAI as a lifeline for those ready to channel their greatness into creating a lasting impact.
